With the passage of I-1163, all long-term caregivers (LTC) are now required to obtain 12 hours of continuing education (CE) credits each year. The new law went into effect on July 1, 2012. DSHS must first approve all classes and there is a backlog of proposed classes waiting for state approval. [ READ MORE ]
On January 7, 2012, Initiative 1163 went into effect requiring most long-term care (LTC) workers to receive additional training and become certified as a home care aide (HCA).
